Kubernetes, self-hosted AI, XR — hands-on, in production

DevOps & AI Infrastructure EngineerI am Tobias Weiß, working at the intersection of artificial intelligence, extended reality, and human-computer interaction.
This is my personal research hub and technical journal — a working archive of how I build, break, and think about self-hosted, sovereign technology. Every article here is the direct result of hands-on infrastructure work: running Kubernetes clusters on my own hardware, serving open-weight language models behind Traefik, experimenting with WebXR on AR headsets, and documenting what actually holds up in production.
The site is deliberately organized around a few recurring threads:
I publish in both German and English. The site runs on a fully self-hosted stack (Next.js, Docker, Traefik) — the infrastructure articles you read here describe the very setup that serves this page.
If you want to work with me, see consulting — or sponsor the project on GitHub.
The GPU World — one GPU per person by 2040
What actually becomes scarce once intelligence stops being the bottleneck? My GPU World long-read takes the competition premise seriously — a Bayesian model of a world with one GPU per person by 2040, a story set inside it, and what a frozen frontier reveals about trust, attention and accountability. Published out of judgement; you are the jury. (Deutsche Fassung)
I help teams run sovereign, production-grade infrastructure: Kubernetes, observability, self-hosted AI. Fixed-price hands-on workshops for teams — see the workshop packages. The deployment guides are free and cover the same stacks.
